Where to go in the age of censorship
It’s getting very difficult to find out where to go as a creator of content. It seems like so many avenues are shutting down during such difficult times of inflation. YouTube apparently has implemented some new rules that question a video going viral too quickly on a new channel, then it’s subject to question or perhaps may be removed.
Recently, a popular couple was removed from YouTube because their channel incited bullying. No I don’t know too much of the channel but for what I’m aware of all they did was read Reddit content and commented on it. An update on this situation they were able to recover the channel, but there are still some issues with either the algorithm or the people behind YouTube policies.
Spotify who at first had Joe Rogan's back has now folded under pressure from several celebrities, Old So far the only solution is to music artist and of course the current presidential administration. Joe Rogan is accused of spreading disinformation through his podcast show because of his outside perspectives from himself and guest on the Pandemic situation. As of right now, Spotify has removed 70 episodes of the Joe Rogan podcast as consequences. Because I no longer use YouTube, I just subscribed to Spotify as an alternative. Now It’s starting to look like it’s not really an alternative for free speech. Damn.
On the other side of the border, our friends from the north, a group of truck driver that formed Freedom, convoyed against Canadian PM Justin Trudeau over VAX mandates for drivers. At the time, they had a go fund me Account that grew in an Enormous support until they got the rug pulled out from under them. Go fund me cut off funding as said they were going to use the money for charity they seem fit, until they back pedal to avoid lawsuits. Now they’re started issuing refunds to all the supporters.
With all these issues coming about from these platforms, The question is what our independent content creator supposed to do When all the platforms we relied on are turning to shit? One alternative platform to earn or receive donations is Indiegogo. It’s which has been around for years funding independent projects and products. If you have a decent following, you can set up a Patreon, so your supporters can donate to. Of course, if you’re a video creator, my go-to recommendation going to Odysee.com to earn some crypto. I also believe dailymotion.com is another option to upload videos content. So far the only solution is to have a pay wall service for your content, at least for some of it. You could also try creating your own site with your own server. The only problem is, you need to have a presence on these other platforms to direct people to your paid platform.
