From Manga to Live Stream: Dive into the World of Cry Freeman
The iconic anime series Crying Freeman was the focus of our previous wacky watch party live broadcast. Because I am so fortunate to have access to the DVD collective series, I am now sharing it with my fans via live streaming.
Kazuo Koike and Ryoichi Ikegami created the Japanese manga series Crying Freeman. From 1986 to 1988, it ran as a serial in Weekly Shnen Jump, and then Shueisha collected the chapters into five tankbon volumes. A Japanese hitman named Yo Hinomura is portrayed as "Crying Freeman" because of his emotional reaction to his victims while working for the Chinese mafia.
The anime series Crying Freeman is based on the manga of the same name. Toei Animation created it under the direction of Daisuke Nishio. The series debuted in Japan in 1988 with a total of six episodes. Yo Hinomura, a trained assassin, has his story told from the perspective of his forced service to the Chinese mafia. A gorgeous artist named Emu Hino captures him after a mission goes wrong, falls in love with him, and then aids in his escape. As they run from the mafia, the two of them find themselves in a perilous game of cat and mouse.
The show has become well-known for its graphic violence, deep characters, and explicit content (Sex). It's a must-see for any anime enthusiast's collection. Due to its age and restricted distribution, it is not always easily accessible online. That's why I am so excited to share with you about it. Watch the clip below:
